What Religion Came After Hinduism?

Hinduism is one of the oldest religions in the world, and its roots can be traced back to the Indus Valley Civilization of the 3rd millennium BCE. Hinduism is a polytheistic religion, and it is based on the Vedas, the oldest sacred texts of India. After Hinduism, Buddhism emerged as the next major religion in South Asia.

Buddhism evolved from Hinduism and the ancient Indian social structure. In this case, there is a male founder of the religion. His name was Siddhartha Gautama and he was born in South Asia (what is now Nepal) in 563 BCE. He was born into a Ksatriya Hindu family, which was the warrior/ruler class. Siddhartha Gautama was dissatisfied with the Hindu religion and the caste system and he decided to leave his family and search for the truth. After years of meditation and contemplation, he attained enlightenment and became known as the Buddha.

The teachings of the Buddha are based on the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path. The Four Noble Truths are that life is suffering, suffering is caused by desire, there is a way to end suffering, and that way is the Eightfold Path. The Eightfold Path consists of right understanding, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right concentration.

Buddhism spread throughout South Asia and beyond. It was adopted by many different cultures and countries, including China, Japan, and Tibet. Buddhism is now one of the most popular religions in the world, with over 500 million followers.

Buddhism has had a major influence on Hinduism. Many of the concepts and beliefs of Hinduism were adopted by Buddhism, such as the concept of karma and the belief in reincarnation. Buddhism also influenced the development of Hinduism in terms of the caste system and the concept of ahimsa (non-violence).

Buddhism and Hinduism are two of the oldest and most influential religions in the world. Buddhism evolved from Hinduism and has had a major influence on the development of Hinduism. Both religions have millions of followers and continue to be practiced today.
